  1. Well, I guess I'm the first to leave a comment! I wasn't able to attend the CHS 50th, but am really looking forward to the Class of '63 reunion. I was out of touch with everybody for many years, but started having lunch with some of the more rowdy ones (Jim, Gerry, Bruce, Gord) a few years ago and it's nice to be back in the fold. Nice to get involved with the organizing committee too - reconnected with several more people. Looking forward to seeing you all!

    1. Bill, Lesley, What a great job of getting all of this together. It has been a longtime and it will be great to catch up with so many of you. It has amazed me that the memories of those years, so many decades ago, are so vivid. Very much looking forward to the weekend. Randy

Awesome job on the website, Bill. Looks great. The CHS 50th REUNION in 2005 was fabulous. I'm sure that the Class 0f '63's 50th will be as well. So looking forward to seeing everyone in September.

I am so disappointed to have to say that I won't be able to attend after all - because of an unchangeable new September schedule that means that I have to be working at that same time. I send you all my love and warmest wishes -- have a simply wonderful time!

  4. It would be a hoot to attend, so I will keep it up front - however, the timing is a big issue for me here at the ranch! No one said it would be this "crazy, busy" in retirement, er, retardment, but I am really involved in some really big community changing stuff here in "Coombs Country" at the moment!!

    Hi Lesley
I did receive your messages, but will not be attending the reunion. Please pass along my "Happy Memories" message, and a reminder that everyone better be on their toes for Myrna's quiz!! I will be attending the WPG Class of 66's 50th Nursing Reunion in 2016! Cheers for Churchill. PS many thanks for all your coordination.

Summer is flying by far too fast, what with grand-kids' visit from Pittsburgh, working, and going to cottage. Wally and I plan to be in Wpg. the first 2 wks of Sept. - staying at his sister's. The web-site is excellent - what a lot of work by all concerned - everyone has done an amazing job - deserve a lot of credit and thanks. As an aside - on the web-site is a photo of our Gr. 7 class - my grand-kids even found Granny! Looking forward to seeing everyone at the wine and cheese Fri. evening.

  8. Hi Lesley,
Thanks for the invitation to your CHS class reunion. I would have liked to attend, mingle, and try to recognize former students 50 years later without looking at name tags. Unfortunately, a temporary setback impacting my mobility prevents my acceptance. Earlier this month I declined a trip to Winnipeg for a reunion of boyhood buddies (all now 80 year olds), for the same reason.

  9. Gayle and I are looking forward to the weekend. I see by Google Street View that the BDI is still open! Yay! We haven't been back to Winnipeg for more than 30 years.
    Good 'page, Bill. Well done.

I would love to come, planned to come, but stuff happens. I have my Mother living with me now.......the timing, September is just bad for Florida residents. It’s the height of hurricane season, and I just couldn’t “dump” her somewhere while I came up there. I thought at first she would be able to travel with me, but that just isn’t an option. As I told Marilyn Platford, you never know, I may still make it at the last minute. I would really love to see you all. Anyway, I’m buried in my Winnipeg family right now, the usual in the Summer. I’m forever hopeful, if not this time, some other time just to see you girls that live there.

Lesley, I am disappointed but I will not be able to attend the reunion. We usually travel to Wpg every couple of years so will try and come next year. I'll let you know when I'm coming. Say hello to everyone for me and hope you all have a great weekend!

  13. You found me. I have lived in the East since 1966, most recently in Perth, Ontario. I had great fun looking at the photographs that John Downie has unearthed from a very long time ago. I will not be able to attend the reunion but I hope that you have a grand time.

  14. Yes, I did receive all the emails you mentioned & have followed the information flow with interest but unfortunately I will not be able to attend the class of 63 reunion activities. Please accept my sincere regrets & pass on my best wishes to all that attend. I will be back in Winnipeg for the entire duration of the Roar of the Rings Olympic Curling Trials at the MTS Centre November 29 – December 8 as I have signed on as a volunteer to work with Bruce so looking forward to that.

    1. Hi Lesley:
I did check out the web page and was already to add a note and saw you had done it for me plus a picture with my granddaughter… thank you for taking the initiative. The site is awesome with all the information and pictures.

We are off to the north Okanagan but my thoughts and best wishes will be reunion related with the returnees for the 50th class reunion. Wish I could have been there. Good for Bill tracking down Randy J. I haven’t seen him since HS and they lived across the street from us on Rosedale. The reunion will be very well attended from the list on the website. Kudos to you and the organizing committee. Hope the weather cooperates for the outdoor activities. Have a great reunion weekend. All the very best.

  15. Thanks for checking. Yes, I have been getting the e mails about the reunion. I have not responded yet, however, I will be in Winnipeg around this time and hope to perhaps fit some of the events into my schedule. Could not believe I would be busier in retirement years! Hope your summer is going well also. I will get back to you when plans have been firmed up.

    Hi Lesley,
I am probably too late to post on the website before a lot of our classmates head to the Peg. Please read this somewhere along on the weekend. Sorry we can’t be there with you all. 50 years WOW. Wishing you all a great time and we would like to have been able to be there. However circumstances prevent us from coming. Leslie you can explain if you wish re mom’s interment etc. Love you all. Man we have come a long way and so neat to have stayed in touch all these years. Not many classes can get that many together after 50 years. Have a super time. Miss you all. Maybe we can make it to a 55th!!!! That is if Leslie will organize it!!!!!! Love ...

  19. Oh how I enjoyed all the pictures and comments! So sorry I haven't kept in contact but we have been travelling and then a very special friend of mine took very ill and I simply forgot about the reunion.
Lesley kudos to you and the committee. Also if you "gals" are getting together for lunch before the roads are closed let me know and I will drive into Wpg. Marilyn Platford Lund
